Wills and Powers of Attorney

A Will has several significant purposes, and it is crucial to consult a lawyer to discuss the importance of having a Will. A Will allows you to decide how your assets will be distributed upon your death.

We will take the time to discuss with you all of the necessary aspects that are essential to drafting your Will, including choosing your Executor, choosing a Guardian for your children, outlining your assets and determining distribution. Following your approval of the drafted documents, we will meet with you to sign and properly witness the Will, either at our offices or at a location convenient for you.

When preparing your Will, it is also important to consider signing a Power of Attorney.

Types of Powers of Attorneys:

1. Power of Attorney for Personal Care: Gives decision making power to your Attorney for hygiene, health care, nutrition and medical decisions in the event that you cannot make them for yourself due to incapacity.
2. Power of Attorney for Property: Allows your Attorney to help manage your finances and property if you are unable to do so, either because of incapacity or unavailability.
